Plantable Packaging

As well as using sustainable and environmentally friendly cardboard packaging for all deliveries which we encourage you to recycle, the labels that are wrapped around each bar of soap are plantable! The plantable seed paper is a handmade paper product made from wood or cotton pulp which is then mixed with a specific seed mix to provide you with the perfect eco-friendly packaging which is fully recyclable and biodegradable. This eco-friendly paper contains seeds embedded within its fibers, allowing it to be planted in soil after use. As the paper decomposes, the seeds germinate and grow into plants, resulting in a beautiful and environmentally friendly way to repurpose waste materials. Here is your guide to plant your label…

STEP 1

Prep the paper

Tear up the paper into smaller chunks, soak them well in water for half a minute.

STEP 2

Plant in tray with compost

Plant the soaked paper under a very thin layer of peat free compost, water them each day to keep moist but don't over water them.

STEP 3

Keep in a warm place (very important!) with natural light

Place the pot in a warm location with access to natural light, such as a sunny windowsill or greenhouse. Ensure the temperature remains consistently warm, as this is crucial for seed germination. Aim for a temperature range of 18 to 24 degrees Celsius (65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit). Provide adequate ventilation to prevent mold growth, especially in humid conditions. Monitor the moisture levels in the soil, making sure it never dries out completely. However, be cautious not to overwater, as this can lead to rot or fungal issues.

STEP 4

Enjoy your blooms!

As the seeds germinate and grow, continue to provide care by watering as needed and ensuring they receive sufficient light. Once you see some shoots, allow them to get stronger before planting outside in Spring or Autumn. Germination could take up to a few weeks. Over time, the seedlings will develop into mature plants and eventually bloom, providing a beautiful display of flowers. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and the beauty of nature's cycle from seed to plant to bloom!
